State DOH working on medical marijuana rules

The South Dakota Department of Health is continuing to work on rules regarding medical marijuana. The voter-passed Initiated Measure 26 takes effect on July 1st.

Health Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon said her department is actively working on various aspects of the new law.

Malsam-Rysdon said the Health Department will soon post information regarding how members of the public may provide input about those rules.  The state Department of Health has said medical cards required to purchase medical cannabis probably won’t be available until late October.
