State DOH reports three COVID-19 deaths Monday
Three additional COVID-19 deaths were reported by the state Department of Health on Monday. Overall since the start of the pandemic, the state has had 2004 residents die with COVID-19.
Another 31 new positive COVID-19 cases were also reported in the state Monday, with the number of active cases decreasing to 522 and the number of people hospitalized decreasing to 56.
Lake County had no new positive coronavirus cases reported yesterday, but did have one recovered case. The county now has 11 active cases and remains listed in the moderate community spread category.
Brookings County also has moderate community spread, with 21 active cases currently. All other area counties are listed by the state Department of Health as having minimal community spread of the virus. Kingsbury County is the only area county to report no active COVID-19 cases as of Monday.
As far as COVID-19 vaccinations statewide, close to 49-percent of those eligible are now fully vaccinated.
