State DOH continues to watch for COVID-19 variants

Three cases of COVID-19 infections tied to variants have been confirmed in the state so far, and public health officials are watching for more.

State Epidemiologist Dr. Josh Clayton says they can’t check every positive test for the variants.

Clayton says the variants spread more easily.

Clayton says overall infections have started to trend up slightly after weeks of declines.

The state Department of Health reports more than twenty-two hundred active COVID-19 cases.
