The state Department of Health reported seven additional COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday, including one resident from Miner County.  Overall, the state has had 1988 deaths of people with COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.  The state reported 83 new positive coronavirus cases also on Wednesday.  The number of active cases statewide was at just more than one-thousand yesterday, and 66 people were hospitalized because of the virus.

Lake County did not report any new positive COVID-19 cases Wednesday, but did have four recovered cases.  Lake County had five active coronavirus cases as of yesterday. 

Other than Brookings County, where there were 30 active cases, the rest of the remaining area counties all reported active cases in the single digits yesterday. Â
