It’s Election Day Tuesday and Secretary of State Steve Barnett wants people to be aware of potential misinformation efforts.  He said that is especially true with information online, where he said that over 53-perent of the information people see is false.

Barnett said for example, people might see a claim that a line is too long somewhere, and that might discourage the person from voting, but it is most likely not true information.

Barnett encourages residents to verify any election information they may have questions about with the Secretary of State’s Office or with the local county Auditor.

He said that residents can be assured of the integrity and correctness of election results.

Barnett said there has been unprecedented levels of absentee voting in the state ahead of today’s election.

Polls are open across the state today from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. local time.  More information on voting in Lake County and the state can be found on our website – amazingmadison.com – just click on the 2020 Election banner on our homepage.  That will also be where we will have links and information on election results tonight, in addition to on-air election coverage on KJAM AM 1390 and FM 103.1.  Â
