Second Medicaid expansion question to be voted on in November

The South Dakota Secretary of State’s office has certified twenty-three thousand petition signatures to get an initiated issue on the ballot, that if approved, would expand Medicaid coverage in the state.

Rick Weiland with “Dakotans for Health” said their issue will join an amendment already certified.

Weiland said their issue is a type of back up plan.

Weiland said they would like to see voters approve both measures.

Weiland said South Dakota is one of twelve states that have not yet expanded Medicaid coverage.
