SD Department of Tourism recognizes 2022 Great Place Designees

A couple of Lake County businesses have been recognized for their outstanding hospitality and customer service.  The South Dakota Department of Tourism recognized the businesses as two of 48 across the state with the 2022 South Dakota Great Place designation.  In Lake County, Lake Herman State Park and Walker’s Point Recreation Area both received the designation.

The South Dakota Great Place program is designed to put a spotlight on businesses that exemplify great service by going above and beyond for guests and employees.  The goal of the program is to strengthen the tourism industry in the state and offer support to tourism industry members.

Other area businesses recognized include Lake Thompson and Lake Poinsett Recreation Areas, Oakwood Lakes State Park, and several Brookings businesses.
