The South Dakota Department of Health has made enhancements to its covid.sd.gov website where COVID-19 information is updated on a daily basis.

State Epidemiologist Dr. Josh Clayton says the previous two dashboards on the site have been combined.

Clayton clarifies the difference between persons tested and tests performed.

Clayton says the website now shows testing progress for the three most recent months.

The state Department of Health asks people to answer the phone when someone from the department calls because of contact tracing. A department spokesman says most caller IDs will display as “South Dakota Department of Health” or “SDDOH.” If a person doesn’t answer, an informative message is left for the person to call the Department of Health back.
