Schiernbeck hired as County’s Planning & Zoning Officer

The Lake County Commission approved the hiring of a new Planning and Zoning Officer for the county during its meeting on Tuesday.  Commissioners approved hiring Carrie Schiernbeck as the county’s Planning and Zoning Officer and Welfare Officer.  Schiernbeck is transferring from her job as the County’s Extension Office Manager to her new position.  Commissioners approved a status change for Schiernbeck at a rate of $23.35 an hour for the Planning and Zoning Officer position, which is 95-percent of the job, and at a rate of $19.95 an hour for the Welfare Officer portion of the position, which accounts for five-percent of the position.  Schiernbeck’s status change was effective on Tuesday for training and full-time effective on March 18th.  Schiernbeck replaces Mandi Anderson, who resigned from the position last month.

Also on Tuesday, commissioners sold a piece of county tax deed property at public auction.  The property is located in Chester.  Commissioners approved the sale of the property to Rob Anderson for the amount of $15, 500.
