Rivera Prison

A South Dakota man will serve time in the State Penitentiary, after pleading guilty to drug charges in Lake County Circuit Court. Benny Rivera pleaded guilty last month to multiple counts of ingestion of a controlled substance.  

Tuesday, Circuit Court Judge Patrick Pardy sentenced Rivera to serve 3 years in prison, with 2 years of the sentence suspended. . The judge said Rivera had a history of operating vehicles while under the influence, and is also currently facing charges in Minnehaha county.
