Richard Barger Sentencing

A Madison man was sentenced for a 6th offense DUI on Tuesday. Richard Barger (Bar-Jer), age 68  was sentenced on the felony DUI charge in Lake County Circuit Court this week.

 Circuit Judge Pat Pardy sentenced Barger to serve 10 years in the penitentiary, along with fees, costs and restitution of more than fifteen hundred dollars. Judge Pardy suspended all 10 years of Barger’s sentence based on numerous conditions.  Some of those conditions include that he pay the amount he owes in fees, costs and restitution, and complete the Brookings County DUI program. 

Barger had previously pleaded guilty to a 6th offense DUI, from an incident that occurred on August 17th of 2021.
