Another new positive COVID-19 case is being reported in Lake County Friday, bringing the county’s overall total to 19.  Lake County also reported on Friday one more person recovered from the virus, so the number of active cases currently in the county sits at two.  There has been one COVID-19 death in Lake County, three people have ever been hospitalized, and there have been 642 negative tests.

Overall, the state Department of Health reports a total of 56 new COVID-19 cases Friday and one new death.  The death is reported as a resident of Minnehaha County.  The state’s total number of deaths from the virus is now at 88.  The state reports 795 active cases of COVID-19 statewide currently, and 79 people hospitalized. 

Other area counties also seeing an increase in positive COVID-19 cases Friday include Miner County, which now reports six active cases, and McCook County, which now has three.  Kingsbury County currently has three active COVID-19 cases, Moody County has two, and Brookings County reports 17 active cases.
