The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Lake County again increased by one Wednesday, as it has for the past several days.  The state Department of Health reports that Lake County now has a total of 17 positive COVID-19 cases, with 12 of them reported as recovered and one death.  This puts the number of active cases currently in Lake County now at four and the county is listed as having minimal to moderate community spread of the virus.  There have been 563 negative tests in Lake County.  

Statewide, another death was reported Wednesday, putting the state’s total at 78.  The new death reported Wednesday is a resident of Lincoln County.  Overall, positive COVID-19 cases in the state increased by 84 to a total of 6050 as of Wednesday.  Of those, 829 are active cases at this time, and 91 people are hospitalized. 

Moody County currently has two active cases of COVID-19, according to state information, and Kingsbury, McCook, and Miner each have one.  Brookings County now has 12 active COVID-19 cases and has been upgraded to substantial community spread by the state Department of Health.
