Oldham-Ramona and Rutland voters decide on consolidation Tuesday

Voters in the Oldham-Ramona and Rutland School District will go to the polls Tuesday to vote on the proposed consolidation of the two districts, with the potential of a new school building on or near Highway 81.

Voters in the Rutland School District vote in the Rutland gym, while those in the Oldham-Ramona School District will vote depending on which county they live in.  Those who live in Kingsbury County, will vote in the Oldham gym, while those in Lake or Miner County, will vote at St. Williams Parish Hall in Ramona.  Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

For the consolidation of the two districts to occur, it must pass by a fifty-percent-plus-one majority vote in each of the school districts.  The plan also includes a tax levy opt out of 500-thousand dollars.  If it passes, a new school board will be elected in November of this year and the new school district will begin on July 1st of 2023.
