NWS Predicts Moderate Flood Chances as Snow Melts

Warmer temperatures have been rapidly melting the heavy snow cover across northern parts of South Dakota, adding to flood worries.Phil Schumacher at the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says dry ground will soak up a lot of that melt.

Schumacher says they don’t expect a repeat of March 2019.

The Weather Service is predicting moderate flood chances along the James, Vermillion and Big Sioux Rivers as that snow melts.
