Lake County is seeing its largest increase in new positive COVID-19 cases Wednesday.  The state Department of Health reports nine new positive COVID-19 cases in the county on Wednesday.  Lake County’s total number of positive cases is now at 78, with 51 of them reported as recovered and two deaths.  There are currently 25 active COVID-19 cases in the county, with 861 negative tests.  

Overall, the state’s number of positive COVID-19 cases increased by 149 Wednesday, putting the state’s total at 8641.  Of these cases, there are 903 active cases, and 46 people are hospitalized.  Six additional COVID-19 related deaths are also being reported Wednesday, putting the total number of deaths in the state at 129.  

Elsewhere in the area, there are currently six active COVID-19 cases in Brookings County, four each in Moody and McCook, and three each in Kingsbury and Miner counties.
