New positive COVID-19 case reported at Madison High School; Lake County has 39 active cases

One more new positive COVID-19 case has been reported in the Madison Central School District.  This case is a student or staff member at Madison High School.  Anyone considered a close contact to this positive case will be contacted by the school district.  Madison High School currently has three active COVID-19 cases, the elementary school has two, and Madison Middle School has one active COVID-19 case as of Tuesday.

Lake County now has 39 active coronavirus cases, while McCook County has 49 and Moody County has 35.  

The state Department of Health reported Tuesday that there are more than 65-hundred active COVID-19 cases in the state, with 236 people currently hospitalized. A total of 2294 COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the state since the start of the pandemic. 

As far as vaccinations, close to 59-percent of those eligible to receive the vaccine in the state have completed their vaccination series, while 70-percent have received at least one dose.  Thirteen percent of those eligible had received their booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as of Tuesday.
