New minimum wage for South Dakota

As the new year approaches that will mean a new wage for many workers in U.S. states. As of January 1, 22 states will raise their minimum wages from 10.80 to $11.20. The minimum wage is annually adjusted for increase in cost of living by the Consumer Price Index

The hourly minimum wage for tipped employees will be $5.60 an hour, half the minimum wage for non-tipped employees. Wages and tips combined must equal at least the minimum wage.
