New business expanding to Howard
The city of Howard will soon be home to a new production company. Millennium Print Group is expanding their printing company to Howard and will be located in a now vacant building in the Howard Industrial Park.
MPG is based in North Carolina and is known for being one of the largest producers of collectible and trading cards and related packaging in the United States. They also serve clients in the education, pharmaceutical, retail, and entertainment industries. MPG is set to employ forty people in Howard.
MPG’s Howard division will occupy a more than 25-thousand square foot building that was built in 2006 and sits on close to six-and-a-half acres in the Howard Industrial Park. MPG is leasing the building from the state and Heartland Consumers Power District. Heartland provides wholesale power to the city of Howard and provides economic development incentives to customer communities to encourage business growth and expansion.
Terry Pegram founded PBM Graphics in 1983 and grew it to one of the region’s strongest privately held printing companies. He sold the company in 2008 to Consolidated Graphics. Pegram bought Millennium Print Group in 2014. He was familiar with the Howard community and available workforce. PBM’s packaging and finishing division is still located in Howard.
