Monday COVID-19 update: one death reported in state; three new positive cases in Lake County

One more COVID-19 death was reported in the state on Monday, putting the state’s overall death toll at 1947.  The state Department of Health also reported 187 new positive COVID-19 cases and an increase in active cases to just more than 24-hundred yesterday.  The state reported 96 people were currently hospitalized because of the virus.

Lake County reported three new positive and two recovered COVID-19 cases Monday.  The number of active cases in the county is now at 38, and 61 people have ever been hospitalized.  The state Department of Health on Monday continued to report Lake County in the substantial community spread category.  Other area counties continuing in that category are Kingsbury and Brookings counties.  Kingsbury County reported 59 active COVID-19 cases Monday, and Brookings County had 179.
