Monday COVID-19 update: No new positive cases in Lake County; 267 in state
The number of active COVID-19 cases continues to decrease in the state and in the area. The state Department of Health Monday reports 267 new positive COVID-19 cases in the state, with just more than 65-hundred total active cases at this time. The state reports no new virus-related deaths Monday, and 288 people are currently hospitalized.
Lake County did not have any new positive cases to report Monday, but did have two recovered cases. This brings the number of active COVID-19 cases in Lake County to 53, and 43 people have ever been hospitalized because of the virus.
Kingsbury County has 50 active coronavirus cases as of Monday, McCook County has 41, and Moody County reports 36 active cases. Miner County has 18 active COVID-19 cases currently, and Brookings County has 205.
The state Department of Health also updated information on vaccinations in the state Monday. So far, just under 14-thousand-800 people have received the COVID-19 vaccine. 273 of those people are in Lake County.
