Monday COVID-19 update: Lake County moves to moderate community spread
Just more than 50 new positive COVID-19 cases are being reported in the state Monday, with no new virus-related deaths reported. The state Department of Health reports just more than 23-hundred active cases as of Monday, and 112 people hospitalized because of the virus.
Minimal changes occurred in Lake County and other area counties in updated information from the state. No new positive cases are being reported Monday in Lake County, but there is one recovered case. Lake County’s number of active cases is now at 36. The state Department of Health has also moved Lake County from the substantial community spread category to moderate community spread. McCook and Kingsbury counties also moved to moderate community spread with 10 and 13 active cases respectively. Miner and Moody counties have each moved to minimal community spread, with Miner County reporting 17 active cases as of Monday, and Moody County reporting 12. The only area county which remains at substantial community spread is Brookings County, which now reports 121 active cases. Â
