The number of people hospitalized because of COVID-19 increased on Monday.  The state Department of Health reported that 112 people were currently hospitalized because of the virus.  There were 133 new positive COVID-19 cases reported Monday, and the number of active cases decreased slightly to just more than 21-hundred.  

Lake County reported no new positive COVID-19 cases and two recovered cases, putting the county’s active cases as of Monday at 28.  

Elsewhere in the area, Kingsbury County reported 40 active cases, McCook County had nine, Moody County-8, and Miner County reported two active COVID-19 cases as of Monday.  Brookings County had 176 active cases.
