The state Department of Health reported less than one-hundred new positive COVID-19 cases Monday and no new virus-related deaths. The number of active cases in the state decreased some to just less than 24-hundred, and 91 people were hospitalized because of the virus.

Lake County reported three new positive COVID-19 cases and three recovered cases Monday, keeping the county’s number of active cases at 55.  

Active cases in area counties stayed relatively steady in Monday’s information from the state Department of Health compared to Sunday.  As of Monday, Lake, Kingsbury, and Brookings counties remained in the substantial community spread category, and McCook and Miner counties reported moderate community spread.  Moody County was the only county in our area with minimal community spread at this time.
