No new deaths and 43 new positive COVID-19 cases are being reported Monday by the state Department of Health.  In the department’s daily update, the number of active cases in the state is listed at just more than 19-hundred, with 92 people hospitalized because of the virus.

Lake County moved back into the category of substantial community spread of COVID-19 on Monday.  The county reports one new positive case and one recovered case Monday, with the number of active cases now at 30.

Elsewhere in our area, Kingsbury County reports 16 active COVID-19 cases, Moody County has 11, and McCook County reports 8 active cases.  All three of these counties are in the moderate community spread category, along with Brookings County, where 56 active COVID-19 cases are being reported Monday.  Miner County is in the minimal community spread category with currently nine active COVID-19 cases.Â
