Mitigation efforts encouraged as positive COVID-19 cases continue to increase
New positive COVID-19 cases continue to increase in the state.
State Epidemiologist Dr. Josh Clayton said that the average daily number of cases has increased by more than ten percent in weekly comparisons.
Clayton said that residents need to remain diligent in helping stop the spread of the virus.
State Health Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon said that vaccine supplies are increasing so the eligibility for people to receive it is expanding next week to anyone sixteen or older. She said that residents should visit the state’s website for more information on where they can receive a vaccination.
