More than twenty girls are spending time this week preparing for this weekend’s annual Miss Prairie Village and Prairie Princess pageant.  The pageant is scheduled for this Sunday, June 5th at 6:30 p.m. in the Lawrence Welk Opera House at Prairie Village.  The theme for this year’s pageant is Back to the 80’s. 

There are sixteen girls taking part in the Miss Prairie Princess pageant, which is open to girls ages eight through eleven.  The 2021 Miss Prairie Princess was Kyra Wiese of Madison.  

Seven contestants are competing in the Miss Prairie Village pageant, which is open to teens ages fourteen to eighteen.  Competing for this year’s title are:  Bailey Hyland of Ramona, Aedan Klawonn of Wentworth, Gracie Lobbins of Winfred, Heather Geyer of DeSmet, and Olivia Meehan, Sophia Sudenga, and Emily Van Liere, all of Madison.  The 2021 Miss Prairie Village was Neely Salmen of Madison.
