MCSEF gives away playhouse as part of annual fundraiser

The Madison Central School Education Foundation was not able to host its annual fundraising Big Apple dinner event this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Instead as a fundraiser this fall, the Foundation sold raffle tickets for a playhouse built and donated by Gene Phillips.

The purpose of the Foundation’s Big Apple event is to raise funds for Madison Central classrooms and teachers.  The funds raised can be accessed through grants, educational opportunities, and leadership activities that ultimately help students and teachers access innovative ideas to improve learning in the schools. Educator Grants provide funding to individuals or small teams of educators in the formation and implementation of groundbreaking classroom instruction.  The grants provide opportunities for educators to integrate new strategies that encourage critical and conceptual learning.

The raffle drawing was recently held and the winner of the playhouse was Drew and Carol Skinner of Madison.  The second place prize of $500 Sunshine Foods and Montgomery’s gift cards went to Bob and Nancy Schamber of Madison.  The third place prize of a Blackstone grill, donated by CU Mortgage Direct, and a $200 Jack’s Cold Storage gift card was won by Doug and Delora Sims of Madison.
