Hartford man accused of killing pedestrian held on $100,000 bond

(AP) – Bond has been set at $100,000 cash for a man accused of driving drunk and killing a woman who was walking her dog in Hartford. Forty-one-year-old Nichole Gail Anderson died at the scene Monday night. Micah Giebler made an initial appearance Tuesday in Minnehaha County court. A prosecutor told the judge the 31-year-old Giebler left the scene and drove to his house less than a mile away after striking Anderson. He returned to the scene with his roommate and called police. The Argus Leader says it’s not the first time Giebler has faced criminal charges. Court records show he was charged in a separate hit-and-run case in January.
