A new event is happening in Madison on Saturday.  It’s the first ever Bacon Bash and it all gets started at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in downtown Madison.  Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Eric Hortness told Madison City Commissioners Tuesday about some of what the day will include.

Madison City Commissioners approved a temporary malt beverage license for the Chamber for Saturday’s event.

Anyone who has a good recipe including bacon can take part in KJAM’s Makin’ Bacon Cook-off.  Registration of either a sweet or savory dish should be done by Friday, with the food entered and judged Saturday afternoon at 1:00.  There are amateur and business divisions, with the winner of the amateur division taking home a 350-dollar prize.  More information on the Cook-off can be found here

Saturday’s Bacon Bash will also include a variety of food vendors and different activities, like a corn on the cob eating contest, a scavenger hunt, a ball drop, train rides, inflatables and other kids’ activities.
