Madison Public Library to add more technology

The Madison Public Library is planning to add some new technology for its patrons.  Library Director Nancy Saabe said the Library was able to apply for a two-thousand dollar technology grant available through the CARES Act.  She told Madison City Commissioners during their meeting this week that the library has been approved for the grant and plans to use it to purchase four internet hot spots that can be loaned out.

Saabe said the hot spots will be useful for patrons who need them for different activities.

Saabe said that until the beginning of 2021 there is no ongoing monthly fee for the devices if they use the Verizon plan.  She said she’s included the fee in the Library’s 2021 budget request though just in case it is needed at that time.
