Madison Police make arrest in hit and run accident
Madison Police have made an arrest in a hit and run accident that happened either Saturday night or early Sunday morning in Madison. Police report that around 1:45 Sunday morning, an officer on patrol found a vehicle parked on Southwest 8th Street that appeared to have been hit. The officer noticed extensive damage to the front bumper and driver’s side of the 2006 Honda Odyssey and also noticed that there were tire marks roughly five feet long from the van being moved after impact.
Later on Sunday morning, officers found the vehicle that had allegedly hit the mini-van – a 2001 GMC Sierra pickup – and arrested 47-year-old Lonny Kaiser of Madison. Kaiser was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, accident with an unattended vehicle, failure to report an accident, driving under suspension, and no proof of insurance.
