Madison One Act Play Heading to State

The cast and crew of the Madison High School One-Act play are getting ready for a trip to the State One-Act Play Festival this weekend. Madison’s play is “The Treasure of Huckleberry Ridge… or Hey, Jude”. It’s a family-friendly western comedy.

Madison performed the play last Wednesday at the Region 3A competition, at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse. Of the six schools in the Region, Madison and Tri-Valley both qualified for the State Festival. In addition to qualifying for State, Madison received a number of individual accolades. Calvin Martin, Eli Oaks, Kamryn Pierce, Ellie Jankord, Georgie Kolbeck, Ava Brandenburger, Selma Brown, Tristan Brown, and Maguire Studer all received an Outstanding Performer Award.

Madison will present their play at the State Festival on Saturday, at 3:45pm, in the Brandon Valley Performing Arts Center. The State Festival includes 46 total plays across 3 different classes. Performances are free and open to the public. The Festival begins Thursday morning, and concludes Saturday evening. A full list of the State Festival schedule can be found at:
