A Madison man was sentenced this week in Lake County on a felony drug possession charge.  28-year-old Jacob Waba earlier pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance and to being a habitual offender.  Waba was sentenced to serve four years in the state penitentiary on the possession charge. Circuit Judge Pat Pardy sentenced Waba to the penitentiary time and gave him credit for twelve days he had already served.  Judge Pardy also sentenced Waba to pay close to one-thousand dollars in fine, costs, and restitution, and to re-pay his court appointed attorney fees, among several other conditions.

Also in Lake County Circuit Court this week, another Madison man was sentenced on a felony charge of Simple Assault against a Law Enforcement Officer.  28-year-old Isaiah Wallowingbull earlier pleaded guilty to the charge stemming from an incident in April of this year. Judge Pardy sentenced Wallowingbull to serve two years in the state penitentiary, with credit for 120 days he’s already served.  The judge also ordered Wallowingbull to pay fine and costs of more than 600-dollars, and to re-pay his court appointed attorney fees, among several other conditions.
