Madison man sentenced on several charges

A Madison man will serve time in the state penitentiary on several different charges.  41-year-old Joseph Harris was sentenced in Lake County Circuit Court this week on two different felony drug charges he pleaded guilty to, as well as probation violations.

On a possession of a controlled substance charge and unauthorized ingestion of a controlled drug or substance charge, Circuit Judge Pat Pardy sentenced Harris to serve three years in the state penitentiary.  The judge also sentenced Harris to pay fine and costs totaling more than 360-dollars and restitution of more than 300-dollars on these charges.

Harris was also sentenced to serve two, two-year penitentiary sentences on each of the probation violations that he admitted to.  The sentences are to be served concurrently and Harris was given credit for time he had already served.
