Madison man sentenced for failing to register as a sex offender

A 24-year-old Madison man was sentenced this week on a felony charge of failing to register as a sex offender.  Jaxon Berglund was indicted by a Lake County Grand Jury on one felony count of Failure to Re-register every six months for an offense that happened in June of this year.  Berglund pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced this week by Circuit Judge Pat Pardy.  Judge Pardy ordered that Berglund serve two years in the state penitentiary.  He also ordered that he pay a fine of five-hundred dollars plus court costs, and reimburse Lake County for his court appointed attorney’s fees.
