Madison Fire Department responds to calls
The Madison Fire Department responded to a couple of calls on Tuesday. Fire Chief Randy Minnaert said that just after 2:00 Tuesday afternoon, firefighters responded to a report of a fire in a ditch southwest of Madison. He said the call was near the intersection of 239th Street and 448th Avenue. Minnaert said it was a small fire most likely caused by a mower and firefighters were back to the station by around 2:45.
Earlier on Tuesday, the fire department responded to an alarm at the new residence hall at Dakota State University on North Washington Avenue. Minnaert said that turned out to be a false alarm.
