Madison DUI Sentencing

A Madison woman was sentenced to prison time on Tuesday in Lake County Circuit Court. 46 year old Dawn Running Horse had previously pleaded guilty to Driving Under the Influence 3rd offense, which is a Class 6 felony. 

On Aug 21st of this year, law enforcement had been alerted to a report of people fighting and learned that one of the individuals had left in a car. Officers then saw Running Horse driving without headlights and speeding, and was found to also be intoxicated. Running Horse had previously been convicted of DUI’s in Mccook County 2016, and Lake County in 2021. 

Circuit Judge Patrick Pardy revoked a previously suspended 2 years prison sentence, and also sentenced Running Horse to 2 years in prison on the latest DUI charge. The judge suspended one year of that sentence, and gave credit for time served.
