Madison Community Center makes plans to re-open with restrictions

The Madison Community Center is planning to open starting next week under established restrictions set by the facility’s Governing Board.  Community Center Director Nicholas Hansen told Madison City Commissioners during their meeting Monday what some of those restrictions will be.

Hansen said that they will allow only ten people in the building each hour during the facility’s normal operating hours, and there will not be any group classes inside, daycare, rock wall or open swim.  Hansen said that the Community Center will only be available for current members, and he said that extra cleaning will also be done.

Hansen said they are planning to re-open with these restrictions on May 4th.  Commissioner Mike Waldner said that if things don’t go well or if anyone of the staff or members using it becomes infected with the virus that it will have to all be re-evaluated.  Hansen said that he hopes that people will make the right decisions and not come to the Center if they are not feeling well or if they are high-risk.Â
