Madison City employees to receive pay increase

City of Madison employees are receiving a wage increase.  Madison City Commissioners on Tuesday approved a resolution that will increase the wages and salaries for full-time and part-time with benefits employees by three-percent.  City Administrator Jameson Berreth said that some part-time employees received small increases already this year, so the three-percent increase will be on the employee’s prior wage.  Berreth said that the resolution also states that the city will contribute an additional $113.34 per month to employee health plans.

The increases to wages and salaries, as well as health insurance, will be effective as of July 3rd.  Berreth said that the resolution was put together at the request of the city commission.  Mayor Roy Lindsay said that it does not include the Mayor or the City Commissioners.
