Madison City Commission to Discuss Creation of a New Tax Increment District

The Madison City Commission will discuss the creation of a new Tax Increment District during their meeting tonight. The new TIF is being requested for a proposed Trojan Village addition, to be located near the new athletic fields being constructed for Dakota State University. The development, proposed by Randy Schafer and Eric Sinclair, would be composed of a commercial/retail space, 35 single family lots, 48 multifamily apartment units, and 20 twin home units. The total authorized Tax Increment Financing District costs is expected to be 5-million 856-thousand 702 dollars.

Commissioners will also consider action to demolish a historic home located at 715 N Egan Ave, and approve a facilities usage agreement with DSU.

The Madison City Commission meeting begins at 5:30 tonight in the Commission room in Madison City Hall. Â
