The Madison City Commission is holding its weekly meeting later today because of the Veteran’s Day holiday on Monday.

On the agenda for the commission is the acknowledgement of the package (off-sale) liquor license transfer application for Randy Gruenwald for Dakota Butcher Madison Incorporated, and the acknowledgement of a cost sharing funding request from the state Department of Transportation for the Washington Avenue reconstruction project.

Commissioners are also scheduled to authorize the Mayor to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Lake County for project assistance funds for Section 22 Planning Assistance to States’ Floodplain Alternative Study.  A certificate of substantial completion for J&M Construction for the 2019 sidewalk improvement project is also on the agenda for Madison City Commissioners, along with resolutions amending the established employee compensation for 2019 and approving a plat.  The commission will also hold first reading of a zoning ordinance and an ordinance on seasonal limitations. Commissioners will also set the bid date for the renovation of the city’s water building.

An executive session for the purpose of preparing for contract negotiations or negotiating with employees or employee representatives is scheduled for the end of today’s meeting.

The Madison City Commission meeting is held today starting at 5:30 in the commission room in Madison City Hall.
