Madison City Commission meeting Monday

The Madison City Commission holds its regular weekly meeting today.

On the agenda for the commission is an agreement with the state Department of Transportation regarding the CARES Act, and the submission of a grant application for the state Department of Social Services Child Care Services for South Dakota Licensed or Registered Child Care Programs COVID-19 funding.

Commissioners are also scheduled to approve the first reading and set the date for a hearing on an ordinance amending a portion of the city’s zoning regulations. They will also approve the Park and Recreation Board’s recommendations for the use of the city’s sports complexes, and discuss the public use of city facilities.

The Madison City Commission will again be meeting virtually using the GoToMeeting application. Residents can join the meeting either online or by phone.

If you have not used GoToMeeting before, we suggest getting everything set up prior to the meeting to make sure you’re ready for start-time at 5:30pm. During time for public comment, you have two options to contribute:

Use the chat function within GoToMeeting; list your name and topic you wish to discuss – we will then call on you when we get to public comment time.
Reach out to our office before 5:00pm Monday at 256-7500 option 3 or email [email protected] to be added to the list to be called on during the meeting.

Normal public comment rules will be followed: no action can be taken and each person gets 3 minutes.
