Madison City Commission Approves Agenda Items; Discusses City’s Strategic Plan.

The Madison City Commission approved a second reading of an ordinance rezoning the area of the Madison Floral Shop on the South Madison Bypass at their meeting last night. The area will be rezoned from residential to agricultural.

The Commission also approved an agreement with PE Group for services related to the Street Shop Renovation Project. The current shop has a number of deficiencies that need to be addressed, including new siding and roof. After looking into the project further, it was determined that a number of electrical upgrades needed to be made as well.

Commissioners also discussed the draft of the City’s Strategic Plan. A final plan will be presented for adoption on June 5th.Â
