Madison City Commission Approves Water Usage Agreement with the Minnehaha Community Water Corporation

The Madison City Commission has approved a water usage agreement with the Minnehaha Community Water Corporation. Madison began receiving water from the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System on August 2nd. The agreement with Minnehaha Community Water, who is also a Lewis & Clark member, would allow Madison to sell some of its allocation of water to Minnehaha Community Water, according to Madison City Engineer Ryan Hegg.

Hegg said this makes good fiscal sense for Madison

While Madison will retain the full rights to its one million gallon allocation, the agreement gives MCWC the exclusive rights to the remainder of that allocation through the year 2035.
