Madison City Commission Meets Tonight

The Madison City Commission will hear a first reading of an amended Solid Waste Ordinance at their regular meeting tonight. The amendment deals with depositing of waste or litter. The Commission will also consider the approval of a contract with Civil Design Incorporated, for a survey and design of the new Restricted Use Site.
Also Monday, the city will consider a Joint Powers agreement with the South Dakota Game fish and Parks, relating to the construction and installation of an ADA accessible fishing pier on the city owned community fishing pond. The project would include the setup and installation of a roll-in floating fishing pier, with the GF&P being responsible for site preparation for the pier installation, including the construction of an ADA compliant bulkhead for the pier to be placed on.
Other items on the agenda include change orders for the Public Waterworks Renovation, and the 9th street/Union Avenue Reconstruction. Commissioners will also hold a discussion regarding the Lead-Free South Dakota water line inventory.
These items and more make up the agenda for the City Commission Meeting, which begins Monday night at 5:30 in the Commission room of Madison’s City Hall.
