Madison Chamber provides opportunities to visit with state legislators

There are a couple of opportunities coming up to visit with state legislators about issues currently happening in the legislative session.

This Saturday in Madison is the annual Legislative Cracker Barrel.  District 8 Senator Jordan Youngberg and Representatives Marli Wiese and Randy Gross will take part in the Cracker Barrel on Saturday morning from 10:30 until noon in the Madison High School Auditorium.  The Cracker Barrel is open to the public and is coordinated by the Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce’s Governmental Affairs Committee.

Next Tuesday, February 11th, it’s the Madison/DSU Hosts the Legislature event.  A motor coach bus will leave the Madison Depot early Tuesday morning and participants will spend the day in Pierre.  The day includes time in the state Capitol, sitting in on legislative committee meetings and sessions of the state Senate and House, and also a luncheon with District 8 legislators.  Participants will also get to meet with Governor Kristi Noem and hear from Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg before touring the state’s Crime Lab. The cost to ride the bus for the day-long event is 60-dollars.  The Madison/DSU Hosts the Legislature event is also coordinated by the Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Committee. Anyone interested or who needs more information can contact the Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce. Â
