Two days of classes missed by Madison Central School students last month because of a water main break will be made up at the end of the school year.  Madison Central Superintendent Joel Jorgenson told board members during their meeting Monday that the two days missed because of the break can be added to the end of the school year, moving the last day of classes to Thursday, May 20th instead of Tuesday, May 18th.  The board approved the change to the district’s calendar.

Jorgenson told board members that if they had known about the break a little sooner before students left for the day that they may have been able to have the two days be remote learning days for middle and high school students and keep the elementary school in session.

Board members on Monday also approved the issuance of the 2021-2022 certified contracts.  These are issued at the current rate and are a way for the district to know who is planning to return to their positions for the next year. Â
