Madison Central reports two positive COVID-19 cases at elementary school
Two more positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in the Madison Central School District. Superintendent Joel Jorgenson said Wednesday that the cases are two students or staff members in Madison Elementary School. He said there were no close contacts for the school with these latest cases. This brings the total number of positive cases overall in the school district to 53 since September.
Also on Wednesday, the district posted a weekly update of active and recovered cases within the district on its website. At the time the information was posted, there were seven active COVID-19 cases involving staff members, and eight active student cases. The active student cases include five in the elementary school, one in the middle school, and two in the high school. The district also reported 20 recovered student cases, and 16 recovered staff cases.
