Three positive cases of COVID-19 were reported Tuesday in the Madison Central School District.  Superintendent Joel Jorgenson sent an e-mail to parents Tuesday afternoon identifying one student or staff member within Madison Elementary and two students or staff members within Madison High School as having tested positive for COVID-19.

Jorgenson said that the district is working with the state Department of Health to determine if there are any additional students who would be considered close contacts to any of the cases.  Parents of anyone considered a close contact will be notified by the school district and the state Department of Health.  Jorgenson said that parents should watch for any COVID-19 symptoms in their child or children over the next fourteen days.

The cases reported Tuesday bring the district’s overall total number of positive cases this school year to 24 since the first case was reported in early September.
